[S4/E11] Milo Goes to Portland

Season 4, Episode 11 – This week, John returns from his recent trip to Portland, Oregon, and brings beers from The Commons and Baerlic with him.

John recently went on vacation with his girlfriend (Yvonne) of 13 years to the wonderful beer city of Portland, Oregon, and he brought back back eight beers from two breweries to share on the podcast. Turns out, there are A LOT of craft breweries in Portland, Oregon, and the hype you’ve heard is totally real. It’s way rad! John couldn’t bring #allthebeers back, so this week we’re focusing on two breweries that John was really impressed with.

The Commons Brewry

First up is The Commons Brewery. The Commons is a GABF award-winning brewery that is making beers to please both the beer-geekiest hophead and the discerning Belgian-style beer drinker. After visiting the brewery, John could reasonably say that most of the brews from The Commons are totally on point and straight up delicious. You MUST stop by The Commons Brewery if you find yourself in Portland.

Next up is a brewery that is new to the 4B crew, Baerlic Brewing Company. This was a brewery that John and Yvonne kind of stumbled upon while wandering around downtown Portland. Turns out, they make really good brew that’s a bit outside of the norm for craft beer.

If you find yourself in Portland, Oregon and you’re looking for some excellent craft beer, rest assured that you’ll definitely be able to stumble into a random brewery (or 20) and drink something awesome.

Keep it up, Portland.

[Side note, the new album (Spotify) from The Menzingers was released while John was vacationing in PDX, so you should totally check it out because it’s awesome.]

[S4/E10] UP UP and Away!

Season 4, Episode 10 – This week, ultra-fresh canned beers from Bottle Logic Brewing, and more 4B listener submitted beers!

Firkfest 2017 is nearly upon us! What is Firkfest, you ask? It’s our very own Greg Nagel‘s annual cask ale festival in Anaheim, California.
Get your tickets at Firkfest.com!

Greg couldn’t join us for Session 52 of Four Brewers, but worry not, for Natalie DeNicholas is here to do some heavy lifting and help us drink some super-fresh beers from Bottle Logic Brewing, as well as great selection of beers from 4B listener, Sam Szapucki!

The first two beers on this week’s episode are a first for Orange County’s Bottle Logic Brewing, Up Up IPA and 714 Blonde Ale in CANS! That’s right! Bottle Logic boarded that massive aluminum train and started releasing their beer in cans this weekend! The highly sought after New England-style Up Up IPA sold out online this past Friday in mere minutes. Luckily for us, we were able to get our hands on some in a nick of time before recording Session 52 on Saturday, March 4th.

Along with Up Up, we’re drinking another first for Bottle Logic, their (714) Blonde Ale in cans! This beer is usually always on tap at Bottle Logic’s tasting room, but the cans will only be available for purchase outside of the brewery within their distribution area. So, keep your eyes open!

We end the show with five beers given to us by loyal Four Brewers listener and Patreon Supporter Sam Szapucki (thanks, Sam!) from Occidental Brewing Co., Melvin Brewing, pFriem Family Brewery, Breakside Brewing, and 4B favorite, Fort George Brewery.
